This time of year for many is notorious for leaky sunroofs, especially on older cars. With perished or cracked seals and relentless rain it is very common to have a wet shoulder for many at this time of year. What you really don’t want though is it getting worse and having to put up with the smell of stale water through your car’s cabin. Not good for anyone.

How do I spot a leak?

It is most common to get leaks through one of your windows as mentioned above by an old or torn seal. If that isn’t the case, the unfortunately it could be a lot more serious and you could have rust around your window or sunroof and it may have rotted completely through. If that is the case, then you will need a body shop to inspect your vehicle to see if it can be repaired, depending on how bad it is, it may need welding, a new panel or simply some filler.
