To tell if it s light scratch, run your fingernail over the surface of the scratch. See if your fingernail catches, if it doesn’t then there is a good chance that you will be able to remove the scratch from view. To do this you will need a polishing compound. There are lots on the market and to choose from such as T-cut polish, Brasso, and car cutting polishing compound will do the trick Even teeth whitening toothpaste can do it. If you do not have any of these you can try making your own. To do this mix some white vinegar with dry mustard powder. If they are very stubborn scratches,  you can use a jewelers rouge which is surprisingly effective.

Before you start this step, make sure that the glass is immaculately clean. The last thing you want to do is to polish more scratches into the glass. You now need to get ready for the part mix the wax in a circular motion on the scratched surface. This can take some time, so prepare to be patient, you will also need to apply a moderate amount of pressure. Stop at regular intervals and check the surface of the glass to see if the scratch has gone, if not repeat this process several times. To make light work of this you can use a ‘buffer’ attachment on an electric hammer drill to do all of the hard work for you.
